Ronnie Wood Buys Vintage Jimi Hendrix Guitar

added 08 January 2009 at 10.54

The Rolling Stones’ guitarist plans to teach his Russian girlfriend, Ekaterina, how to play it…

Wood splashed £13,000 on the guitar, once used by Jimi Hendrix, as a present for his 20 year-old girlfriend, Ekaterina Ivanova.

A friend told The Sun: "She fell in love with the guitar before Christmas but rather than buying it while she was with him, Ronnie wanted to wait and surprise her."

Wood, who will tour as part of The Faces later this year, is currently giving Russian waitress Ivanova guitar lessons.

"He loves to treat her with gifts and tokens of his affection. He has been spending a small fortune on her which she is more than happy to take," the friend added.
