The band return for first show since their hiatus kicked off...

Red Hot Chili Peppers are to take part in a special show honouring Neil Young early next year. The band, who took an extended break in 2007 following the 'Stadium Arcadium' tour, will play the Musicares event on January 29 in Los Angeles.

It's the 20th anniversary of the event, which is designed to give financial support for musicians, and Young is being named Person Of The Year for his charitable work. The Chili Peppers have performed at the show before - in 2005 they showed up to pay tribute to Beach Boy Brian Wilson.
