Placebo Star Faints Mid-Set

Brian Molko joins the ever-expanding roster of poorly rock stars...

Brian Molko fainted on stage mid-set while performing in Japan on Sunday (August 9). The Placebo singer has been diagnosed with an unspecified illness, but is reportedly "recovering well".

The band have issued a statement, admitting, "It is always incredibly disappointing when a show cannot take place for any reason" and blame their "gruelling and intensive schedule" for the incident.

Molko is not the only artist in recent times to abruptly end or postpone a set. Coldplay had to reschedule a concert in Tampa for unspecified 'medical reasons' over the weekend and only yesterday, Xfm had to postone our Evening With Jet session after singer Nic Cester keeled over with suspected gastroenteritis at a show in London.

Despite doctors' warnings, the singer will continue as scheduled for the band's intimate acoustic set at London’s This Feeling club tonight.

What's wrong with the world's rock stars? Is swine flu taking hold, or is it a new variation - Rock Flu? Only time will tell...
