My Bloody Valentine To Give Away Earplugs

Notoriously loud band to give out lug-hole protectors on tour...
My Bloody Valentine are to give away free earplugs on their European tour this year. The Irish shoegazing pioneers are well known for their, er, sonic experimentation and became infamous for the ear-splitting passage in live versions of 'You Made me Realise', nicknamed 'The Holocaust'. This shapeless wall of noise can often last up to half an hour and can apparently induce physical changes in some people (not least in the bowel area).
So, on their forthcoming shows in August and December, the band - in conjunction with Earplugshop.com - will be giving away the disposable 'Moldex Yellow' range of earplug as the audience file into the venues.
Earplugshop.com spokesman Shaun Thornburgh was absolutely delighted to have the band on board. "I am very pleased to have struck a deal", he said, loudly. "Respect to them for taking ear damage so seriously. By handing out these disposable earplugs at their gigs, the band is highlighting how important it is to protect ears from damage which, once set in, is irreversible".

But if you think you're think you're too hard for this sort of thing, have a look at this and think again:
