Maximo Park To Release Special 12"

The next single will be more dancey, says Paul Smith...

Maximo Park's next single will be avaliable on 12" vinyl for the first time. The track is appropriately called 'Twelve' and frontman Paul Smith says they wanted to bring out something a bit more dance-based. "Quicken The Heart is not only sparkling pop, but I find it promotes a wiggle of the backside and a brisk tap of the foot," he says.

The band are signed to noted dance label Warp and Smith feels that the 12" tips a (bowler) hat to their reputation. "Apart from the ‘I Want You To Stay’ B-sides, we’ve avoided remixes largely because we wanted to define ourselves outside of our famous label. We approached some artists we respect and put out the call for remixes. ‘Let’s Get Clinical’ proved popular with Clark (his remix is mental!), Tom Middleton (ultra-danceable!) and Hijacker (subtly addictive!), whereas dubstep pioneer Martyn fancied a crack at ‘A Cloud Of Mystery’ with intoxicating results."

'Twelve' is released on November 16.
