Kaiser Chiefs: "It's A Holiday, Not A Hiatus"

Ricky and Nick spill the beans about those "split" rumours...
Kaiser Chiefs have responded to rumours that their Leeds Festival appearance would be their last ever gig by admitting... that they're going on holiday for a bit.
"It's our last gig for the foreseeable future, so it's a bit of an abyss tomorrow," Ricky Wilson told Xfm's Sunta before they headlined the Leeds leg of the double-headed festival on Sunday (August 30). "You think if it was our last gig ever, we wouldn't be having a good time? I don't think bands split up when they're still good friends and having a good time with each other.
"We just haven't written anything new and we haven't booked anything. If people look at your diary and see you haven't booked anything, they think you're stopping. We've been on tour for five years and we want to spend some of our money on air travel!
"I never really saw the point of going on holiday before. but last week I was in Tel Aviv and went in the sea. I thought, Oh, I get it now, it's fun."
But the newly long-haired Kaisers frontman was keen to stress that the band were not going on hiatus. "We've just got nothing to do. We don't want to bring out an album before Christmas, we don't want to bring out an album after Christmas. We don't want to go into the studio, there are no more gigs. It's a bit like when we first started and had proper jobs and did a gig a month."
Drummer Nick Hodgson said that he'd be "Getting a dog, doing nice things and getting on planes," while guitarist Whitey was fully expected to replace Noel Gallagher in Oasis. Wait a minute, is that another rumour starting?

i think it's great that they can just go off and have fun with everything they've earned instead of just earning more and more unnecisarrily, they can do what they want finally and i just think it's great, sure il miss their music but still good to know they're having fun

Shame if Kaiser Chiefs do split up. All the catchy tunes they have done, and the brilliant live performances. They have had so many nominations, and of course won some awards.
But I thought that the Kaiser's were fans of Blur. So why is Whitey going to Oasis?
