The band's third album beats off stiff competition...

Editors have hit number one in the album charts with their third album, 'In This Light And On This Evening'. The follow-up to 2007's 'An End Has A Start' knocked rapper Chipmunk's 'I Am Chipmunk' into second place, with Madonna's 'Celebration' at Number 3, Shakira's 'She Wolf' at Number 4 and Paolo Nutini's 'Sunny Side Up' at 5.

You can hear Editors' Tom Smith and Ed Lay talk Xfm's John Kennedy through the new album right here.
