Beastie Boy "Doing Well" After Cancer Surgery

MCA says it's "getting better everyday"...
Beastie Boys' Adam "MCA" Yauch has revealed that he's doing well after surgery for cancer. It was announced last month that the rap trio were putting their latest album 'Hot Sauce Committe Part 1' and tour on hold because Yauch had been diagnosed with a tumour in his salivary gland.
Now, after an operation on his throat to remove the troublesome lump, MCA has said that the surgery had been successful. In an email to Beastie Boys website subscribers, he said, "So I’m about a week and a half out of surgery now and rapidly recovering from it. I haven’t taken any of the pain meds, which supposedly speeds along the healing process, or should i say, taking them slows it down.
"My neck and jaw are still pretty stiff from the surgery, but it gets better everyday. Things are moving along. The next line of treatment will be radiation. That involves blasting you with some kind of beam for a few minutes a day, five days a week, for about seven weeks. That starts in a few weeks."
Yauch also gave thanks to all the best wishes for a speedy recovery from around the world, particularly Jay-Z and Coldplay, who both dedicated Beastie covers to the rapper.
