Animal Collective Working On Film

Fresh off the heels of new album ‘Merriweather Post Pavilion’, Animal Collective tell Xfm they’re already working on their next project…

In an exclusive interview John Kennedy, the band talked through new album ‘Merriweather Post Pavilion’, released last month.

Asked about their future plans, Dave and Brian from the band revealed they’re already working on their next project, an abstract visual film directed by Danny Perez.

They said: “We’ve been working on the next project sort of simultaneously with ‘Merriweather Post Pavilion’ for the last two years. It’s more of a visual project. We’re filming some sort of abstract stuff with our friend, Danny Perez, who’s a director.”

Though the band are recording new material for the film, don’t expect to experience it live.

“We’re writing original music for it, and we’re doing that as a four-piece, including Josh (Deakin). The material we’re working on for this visual project is never gonna be performed live.”
