Drunk Lennon Recording Sells At Auction

A six-minute recording of an apparently drunk John Lennon in 1973 sells at auction for £20,000…
Lennon recorded the cover of Lloyd Price’s ‘Just Because’ in Los Angeles after briefly leaving his wife Yoko Ono.
The track, which has never been aired in public, sold for £20,000 at Bonhams and Butterfields Auctioneers in Los Angeles, report BBC News.
The auctioneer claims Lennon improvised the following lyrics: “Just a little cocaine will set me right… Wanna take all them new singers, Carol and the other one with the nipples, I wanna take ‘em and hold ‘em tight.”
Erm, who's Carol? Anyway, a properly recorded rendition of the song is available on Lennon’s ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’ 1975 covers record.
