Radio 4 Live On Music: Response

added 10 October 2006 at 16.36

Radio 4 return with an exclusive session for Xfm of their unmistakable New York fashioned post-punk. Listen to it right now.

Over four albums Radio 4 have made their angry dirty-beautiful sound a lasting signature. However, it's through their live performances that the band truly shine. Recognising this, Radio 4 have looked to the spontaneity of the NY beatniks of the 50s and 60s for inspiration for their latest album 'Enemies Like This'.

As a result the new album retains the brash immediacy of Radio 4’s live sound and is littered with automatic writing.  From the dub-like elasticity of  to the catchy angular anthem ‘Too Much To Ask For’, 'Enemies Like This' is a patchwork of diverse influences and invention. Talking to Sarah Darling they explain the fun in recording their new album in just 21 days and the pleasure of working with Primal Scream collaborator Jagz Kooner.
