Paul Weller, Keane, Radio 4 Cancel Shows

Due to illness Paul Weller, Keane and Radio 4 have all been forced to cancel gigs in the UK. While the disease continues on it’s search and destroy mission though the ranks of modern rock, Xfm brings you the details of all of the cancelled and rescheduled shows.
Weller has been forced to scrap his entire tour following the news that he has been hospitalised due to a severe throat infection. The dates at the Keighley Victoria Hall (November 5) and the Glasgow Armadillio (6 and 7) were originally postponed for a month. However, it has been confirmed that the whole tour will be cancelled.
Paul Weller’s new single ‘Thinking Of You’ is released on November 15, with 50p from each copy sold donated to this year’s Children In Need.
Pop-balladeers Keane have also been forced to cancel two gigs due to singer Tom Chaplin contracting a throat disease. As a result, their shows tonight (November 9) at Bristol Carling Academy and tomorrow (10) at Exeter University Great Hall have been postponed.
The Bristol date has been re-scheduled for January 19 and Exeter for January 21, although refunds are available from the point of purchase is required. The rest of the tour remains intact: Truro Hall Cornwall (November 12), Southampton Guildhall (13), Cambridge Corn Exchange (14), London Brixton Academy (16-18).
Finally, Radio 4 have cancelled their entire forthcoming European tour following frontman Anthony Roman falling ill with a currently undiagnosed ailment.
Percussionist PJ O'Connor said, "We look forward to returning to Europe when and only when Roman is medically cleared to continue. Nobody is more disappointed about cancelling our commitments than Anthony, but touring is not an option as his condition has not improved. Our concern right now is for his well being. We'll see you in '05."
The affected dates include Lille Aerneof (November 6), Paris La Cigale (7), Nantes Olympic (8), Renne Ubu (9), Bordeaux Theatre Barbey (10), Manchester Bierkeller (12), Liverpool University (14), Dublin Music Center (15), Belfast Limelight (16), Bristol Thekla (17), London Mean Fiddler (18), Sheffield Leadmill (19) and Glasgow Oranmor (20).
The band's new single 'State Of Alert' is released on November 15.
